The Royal New Zealand Plunket Society Inc has chosen Microsoft Business Solutions Navision and implementation partner Topaz Solutions, to transform its financial information system.

Plunket's Wellington-based financial team manages the information for the organisation which includes the National Society as well as 124 legal entities and 629 branches.

In September 2004, Plunket began the search for a new Financial Information System. They needed a system that would improve the support of Plunket business processes and provide quality management reporting to aid decision making, thus ensuring that Plunket resources were used more effectively.

Plunket undertook a public tendering process and selected Topaz Solutions in November to implement a Navision solution. Navision will be deployed across a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 platform and will provide many benefits to the Plunket organisation, with very little customisation needed. Plunket and Topaz have already started working together to plan the implementation and the first phase is expected to go live in February 2005, with the full system live by July 2005. Topaz will also support the system post-implementation, and look forward to developing a thriving business partnership with Plunket.
