Microsoft has a demand for a business modelling tool

Microsoft is in talks with German software vendor IDS Scheer to integrate its Aris business process modelling tool with both Microsoft's BizTalk Server and the next generation of Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) products.

An alliance could see Microsoft systems able to configure themselves based on business process inputs. Wolfram Jost, a member of the executive board at IDS Scheer, confirmed that talks are underway with a goal of a formal alliance in the third quarter of 2005.

"Microsoft has a demand for a business modelling tool and there aren't many players like IDS Scheer that have these capabilities," he said.
