Christar selects Serenic Navigator

Serenic Corporation (TSX-V:SER), an international publisher of financial and operational software, announced today that Reading, Penn.-based Christar has selected Serenic Navigator as its new financial management software solution.

With more than 300 missionaries worldwide, Christar is a leading international ministry. Founded in 1930 as International Missions Inc., the major thrust of Christar is church-planting among "least-reached" people groups. "Least-reached" is defined as people who do not have access to a church where the gospel is preached in their own language and culture. The organization's aim is to start indigenous churches which will be culturally appropriate in proclaiming the Christian faith. Christar believes that church-planting is the most effective and efficient means of evangelism because it is the best way to affect a culture.

Christar purchased the following modules from the Navigator suite: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Advanced Allocations, Payroll, Human Resources, Advanced Budgeting, and Serenic DonorVision. Implementation of the software began this month, with a projected "live" date in the second quarter of 2006.

Navigator, powered by Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Navision), is a financial management solution that delivers the unique and sophisticated functionality required by mid-to-large NFP organizations and government agencies. As a fully integrated solution, Navigator offers core financials plus a comprehensive suite of operational applications, such as Serenic DonorVision (fundraising), Serenic OneCare (case management), Revenue Management (utility billing), and Grant Management. This tight integration removes the need to add third-party applications and makes users immediately more productive.

"The choice of Serenic Navigator is the result of more than 10 months of planning, discussion and analysis by a team of Christar managers and outside consultants," said David J. Baseler, Christar board member and interim U.S. director. "We looked at a wide variety of solutions in many different technological approaches to a unified system. In the end, we believed that Navigator was the most versatile system to meet our worldwide needs. As we continue working through the implementation process, we are excited to see how God is working through Christar and Serenic to use this technology for His purposes."

"The addition of Christar to our client roster is truly significant," said Jay Malik, Serenic's president and CEO. "Over the past two years, we have been fortunate to have landed several international missions as clients."

Malik continued, "We understand their needs and we share their commitment to making the world a better place. By choosing Navigator as the technology platform on which to run their financial operations, Christar has further validated our decision to focus on the evangelical ministry market."
